So I haven't posted on this blog in FOREVER, but have been wanting to get back to it.The perfectionist in me never goes through with writing what's on my heart for fear of not choosing the perfect words or I probably won't have time to take magazine perfect photographs that will make my blog look amazing.
Whatever. Sometimes you just gotta do you and not compare what you're doing to others! Am I right?!
Why am I writing this post about Norwex?
No I do not sell these products nor am I sponsored or anything like that. I just really, REALLY like these products for so many reasons and there are so many misconceptions people have about Norwex.
The one I hear most is that Norwex products are too expensive. The reality is they have saved our family a ton of money and stress, and I would love to share how!
When I first heard of Norwex, I was COMPLETELY skeptical that a CLOTH and water could SANITIZE anything! I am a HUGE germaphobe, and was happy with Clorox wipes, vinegar spray and paper towels, nasty sponges and bath tub/shower cleaner, essential oils, Windex etc. I finally gave in to a friend's Facebook Norwex party invitation. I was blown away by the raw chicken demo (look it up on Youtube!) I saw during the Facebook live video and realized I needed these cloths ASAP because as I watched the live party demos, our whole family had a stomach bug. I bought the cloths, have been loving using them and had to share how our family uses them here and there and everywhere!
1. MEALTIME: I have a 2 year old girl and a 3 year old boy...mealtime is messy at every meal. We're always wiping peanut butter and jelly fingers, pasta faces, and wiping the highchair tray. I love that Norwex envirocloths/body cloths/kitchen cloths (whichever one I happen to grab) get EVERYTHING out of their hair, off their faces and hands, and leaves nothing (not even pasta/blueberry stains) on Camille's tray. Not only that, I know that the cloths are really cleaning at the same time, so I don't have to use soap, vinegar or any chemicals on the table or highchair. The envirocloth absorbs a lot too, which is nice for the times your 3 year old spills his milk on the floor and you need something to get it ALL off the floor ( and you don't want that sticky milk residue after!)
Money $aver: We rarely use napkins or paper towels thanks to the cloths, and don't need anything but water to clean up after mealtime or messy snacks (think popsicles or yogurt!)
2. CLEANING THE HOME: I use my envirocloth for almost anything that needs cleaning in my house. Dirty mirrors are wiped PERFECTLY clean with a dry envirocloth. I dust all of my furniture with a moist envirocloth (although I have also been loving my envirowand I recently got!) I clean the kids' bathtub with literally just a wet envirocloth - no cleaning agents needed! It grabs ALL the dirt and grime and just rinses off the cloth! I mop my floors with the Norwex mop pads and water. JUST WATER! Amazing right?! And I am so serious when I say our floors have never felt cleaner. Countertops, toilet surfaces, door knobs, light switches, the front of the fridge...I clean and sanitize these surfaces with a wet envirocloth, ya'll! Even our stainless steel microwave that gets sticky, greasy fingerprints on it...a wet envirocloth gets EVERY fingerprint off with no sign that anything was ever dirty!
Money $aver: We threw out the Windex (PRAISE the Lord...HATED the smell of it!!!!), no longer need to buy vinegar or countertop spray, no longer use dusting spray, we threw out our Swiffer sweeper wet/dry mop (those pads are expensive and add up majorly over time!) no more Clorox wipes during sickness in the house or any other time, no stainless steel cleaner, no tub cleaner (although I do use Seventh Generation shower spray for the shower in the master bath), Comet has been replaced with Norwex cleaning paste for really tough cleaning jobs (baked on stuff on the cook top etc.) Also no more paper towels to clean surfaces or mirrors! SO MUCH MONEY SAVED and I love that I'm cleaning with something safe for my babies and eliminating toxic chemicals for all of us!
3. GROCERY CARTS: If you're a fellow germaphobe mom like me, you hate the thought of putting your child in disgusting grocery/Target carts that Lord knows who's sick child has sat in before your child. I read an article mentioning that scientists have even found E-coli on grocery cart handles and in the main part of carts thanks to people not washing hands and raw meats thrown into carts. The worst are those cute little cozy coupe looking grocery carts (with some kid's old bandaid or tissue they left behind ever so kindly). I take a wet envirocloth or kitchen cloth with me to the store hooked to my diaper bag with a carabiner so I can be 100% sure the cart they are about to sit in will be really and truly clean after I wipe it down. After we do our shopping, I can wipe my kids' hands down with that cloth and know that their hands are clean too!
Money $aver: No expensive hand sanitizers, sanitizing wipes or cart covers (that don't even work on Aldi double seater carts or the car carts). Mom win!
4. THE PARK: In the hot months, not only are kids' hands getting germy at the park, but they get sweaty, fall down and get dirty knees, you name it! I love bringing a wet Norwex body cloth to the park to wipe faces and hands and even the picnic table so my kids can have a snack at the park minus the germs! We have stayed well through flu season, and I know it's partially thanks to our cloths! You can bring them to Chick-fil-A or anywhere your kids eat and play on the Play Place (germ city).
Money $aver: Once again, you can skip hand sanitizer or antibacterial wipes. Just be sure you rinse your cloths well with warm water and hang it up once you get home!
5. BYE BYE FACE WASH: The Norwex body cloths are our best friends! Jordan can wipe down after sweaty yard work and instantly be cleaner using just a wet body cloth. I tossed my face wash, because I am able to remove makeup (yes even eyeliner and mascara!) and exfoliate with a wet body cloth for up to a week before I need to throw it in the washing machine! The kids used to scream if they got soap in their eyes while we washed their faces (even with tear free natural soaps). We literally just keep a body cloth hanging in the kids' bathroom now that is for their little faces, and they love it! Our skin has never been this clean...it's awesome!
Money $aver: No need to buy expensive face wash anymore (sorry friends that sell skin care lines!) and we don't use as much soap for the kids anymore! It's also nice to "sponge bathe" with a wet body cloth when you just don't have time to shower but need to freshen up (can I get an amen mom friends?!)
6. COOKING/BAKING: How annoying is it to have to wash your hands every time you mess with raw meat or eggs? I can literally just wipe my hands on a wet kitchen or envirocloth to clean my hands so I can quickly get to the next step while cooking/baking. Not only that, I can sanitize my countertop just using water (NO CHEMICALS on a food prep surface!) and throw flour on my counters to roll cookie dough. With a quick wipe over the mess I can remove the buttery, greasy mess and the flour in no time! It just saves so much time having one of these cloths by your side while working in the kitchen! Same with raw meats on my counters...no worries if I drop raw chicken on them!
Money $aver: Ok, so this one is more about saving time and helping you to enjoy cooking/baking without worrying about the mess, but the cloths will keep you from buying those organic, food safe counter sprays that will cost you an arm and a leg!
7. SICKNESS: One of my least favorite things about caring for someone that has a stomach bug in the house is dealing with the cool rags that were used on the sick person's forehead/neck or rags used to wipe vomit from their mouth. I'm a germaphobe 200% and so paranoid when a bug hits our house, so having cloths that lock in the bacteria so it doesn't transfer to me is just a lifesaver! Plus the Norwex cloths go to work sanitizing any surface that needs cleaning around where the sickness happened (especially great for when your child doesn't quite make it to the toilet in time and loses it on the bathroom floor). I use my envirocloth to hit light switches, door knobs, tv remotes...anything the sick person has come in contact with while sick and I know it is getting sanitized MUCH more thoroughly and without the chemicals of Lysol or Clorox! Our stomach bug staples in the house are Norwex cloths, Thieves essential oil blend, coconut water, and rice, oyster crackers and chicken noodle soup!
Money $aver: Throw out your Clorox wipes for heaven's sake and forget the toxic Lysol spray. No need to stock up on these anymore!
Overall, you can clearly see how much these products have changed our daily lives and saved us SO much money that we can't afford to NOT use Norwex! These cloths last up to 2 years with proper care (launder without bleach or dyes or fabric softeners and always rinse and hang to dry after use). I can't say enough about these products (even though I have said a lot on this post!).
